New Year's Goal Setting?

I have never been a big new year's resolution person, but I do like to use the end of the year as an opportunity to reflect and do three things:
Be grateful for what I have.
Be grateful for what I have.
Recognize and feel good about my accomplishments, however small.
Adjust my goals, which tend to be ongoing.
I’m not much of a planner. More reactor. I react to situations by setting goals. When I was unemployed, I set a goal to write a book and run an obstacle course race. Those are outcome goals. To be successful, set process goals that lead to outcomes. Here are some more tips for setting goals:
Be specific, not general. Apply the SMART acronym.
Be specific, not general. Apply the SMART acronym.
If you want to know what you are capable of, set impossible goals. Challenging goals are OK. Rethink anything easy.
Don’t go it alone. Find an accountability partner—someone who can provide feedback and support.
If you are a safety professional and struggling with a professional development goal, take my Safety Leadership Self-Assessment and develop a personal action plan. You can find the self-assessment here http://karolsafety.com/leadership-tools (under the Leadership Tools tab if you are on my website.)
2020 is over. No excuses. Now make 2021 a great year!
Happy New Year!
